Website Design

Where to start with website design? No doubt you’re reading this after browsing google looking for a local website designer. I’ve bet you’ve seen prices that range from £150 through to £5000 plus. The truth is, you can have a beautiful website without it costing an arm and a leg.

I specialise in website design for local businesses. I understand, as a small business, you might not have budgeted £1000 plus for a website. This is where i can help. I don’t charge a massive one off fee to build your website, and i certainly don’t leave you to run it once it’s built. The way i work with all my clients is quite simple:

We agree an initial set up fee
We then agree on a monthly maintenance fee
We also agree a minimum term for which i will maintain your website

This way, the website is designed and built to your specification, I take care of keeping the website up to date, as well as adding new content and ensuring your SEO is working how it should. The initial set up fee and monthly maintenance fee depend on exactly how much work is required on a monthly basis.

Responsive Websites

in 2014, mobile based web browsing overtook desktop based web browsing. Around 60% of all web browsing is now done on a mobile device (smartphone or tablet) and this number will only keep growing. Because of this, you need your website to be accessible to both mobile and desktop browsers. Around 60% of people abandon non-responsive websites when they are browsing on a mobile device. Having a non-responsive website can also damage your SEO rankings.

It’s for the above reasons that every website i design is responsive.

A responsive website adapts to every device that browses it. It re-arranges the content automatically so that it is easily viewable whether your customer is browsing on their mobile phone or their tablet. If you want to see how well it works just visit my website from your smartphone or tablet.

Wordpress Specialist

Every website i design is built on the WordPress platform. WordPress is the most popular platform for businesses and individuals, running on over 75 million websites world wide.

The reason i use WordPress is because it’s secure, reliable software. It’s very flexible and can do almost anything you need it to do. (well as far as websites go). It’s also very easy for someone with very little website experience to use. So if you decide you eventually want to run your website on your own, it’s very easy for you to log in and update the content of your website yourself.

Social Media

Social media is a must have for any business. Over the last few years we have seen the rise and rise of networks such as Facebook & Twitter.

Social Media is a great way for potential customers to find you, it’s also a great way for you to interact with your customers.

I will ensure that your website is linked to your social media pages and vice-versa. Social Media now plays a big part in your SEO rankings. Not to mention that a well designed website can encourage people to share it on Facebook and twitter – Free advertising for your business.

I will make it easy for people to share your website across a number of networks, including Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and even instagram. I can also control exactly what is shown when your website is shared across these networks, giving you total control of what potential customers will see.

Website Maintenance

All of my clients have their websites on a pay-as-you-go system. Rather than paying me a huge one off fee, we agree a minimum term and a monthly payment. The monthly payment ensures your website is kept up to date and all software and security updates are installed as and when required.

The monthly maintenance includes:

Website software updates
Adding and removing content
Adding and removing pages
SEO health check
Social Media updates
Fixing broken links & pages
Adding new functionality

A lot of clients prefer to work this way as it ensures everything on the website is as up to date as it can be. Out of date information on websites can put people off. Out of date pricing (particularly where SEO is concerned) can result in you losing business to your competitors.

Updating your website regularly plays a big part in your SEO rankings. Google loves fresh, up to date content. Neglecting your website can really hinder your google ranking.
